My
obsession with design started when I attended Denver School
of the Arts and majored in costuming and stage tech. My first
collection and show was when I was 13. Since then I have been
going almost non stop since then. Currently, I’m working
on my A.A. Degree at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising
in Los Angeles. After graduation, I plan on applying for my
B.A. at Central Saint Marlens and London College of Fashion.
Eventually I would love to head my own design house. |

work in a manufacturing environment, I’ve done some CAD
design, Production, and Quality activities during almost eight
years—I was doing well. But there was something missing,
something that could make me feel satisfaction for what I do.

My
first introduction to design and sewing was by my grandmother.
She taught me how to make doll clothes from fabric scraps
of the outfits she was making me. Mrs. Goryance, my eighth-grade
home economics teacher, refined my couture skills in her class
where I vividly remember the painstaking construction of French
seams on a cotton voile nightgown. I still have the scissors
my mother purchased for that class! Read

Stephanie Ohnmacht |
At 7, I was given a beat-up sewing machine, scrap fabric, and
a license to sew anything I could dream of. Since my sisters
on the farm were uncooperative models, I turned my designing
skills to the animals and dolls who were soon sporting some
of the latest fashion designs. Sewing became my passion, much
to the joy of any local fabric store. I fed this passion by
competing in 4-H competitions for 10 years during my youth and
won many local and state awards in construction and fashion
revue. Read

Tricia Hoke |
I
learned how to sew at the age of five. I used to “re-vamp”
my paper doll’s wardrobe by tracing over them and creating
spring and fall collections for them. I went to Emily Griffith
Opportunity School, and completed the Professional Sewing
Program. I started doing runway shows. Designing under my
name (then Tricia Russell) I was recognized by Fashion Group
International as a runner up in a Rising Star Award Show.
